Capacity building is one of the key objectives of the International Mangrove Center (IMC), playing a crucial role in supporting member states to strengthen mangrove conservation and restoration efforts. It not only serves as a platform for sharing best practices and technologies in mangrove conservation, restoration, and wise and sustainable use but also provides an important opportunity for member countries to deepen dialogue, exchange experience, foster mutual understanding, and explore future cooperation.
To fulfill this objective, the IMC regularly organizes international workshops focused on mangrove conservation, restoration, and wise and sustainable use of mangrove ecosystems. Each workshop covers a wide range of topics such as mangrove action plans, blue carbon, climate change adaptation, and best practices in mangrove conservation, restoration and management.
Renowned experts around the world lead the sessions, which blend theoretical learning with practical field visits to mangrove conservation sites, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience and foster cross-country exchanges.
Through these efforts, the IMC aims to strengthen the collective capacity of its members to respond to global environmental challenges and promote sustainable development.
